About the Club

Honley Junior Football club was founded in 1986. We are a member of the Huddersfield and District Junior Football League and are affiliated to the Football Association via the regional West Riding County FA. This coming season we will have teams representing Honley in age groups running from Under 7s through to Under 17s. As well running an Under 6s pre- organised football group providing fun football activities and an introduction to the game.

As an FA Charter Standard club, our philosophy is simple, we strive to provide a safe, non-aggressive and fun environment for young people to develop and enjoy their love of football. As a community club, we welcome any player no matter what age, gender or ability to play for HJFC.
We provide a safe, positive environment that lets our player grow and develop as both footballers and individuals.

At a coaching level, each Team manager has their FA level 1 or 2 coaching badge and each assistant coach has taken a first aid course, safeguarding children course as well as undertaking a criminal record CRC check. The Club itself is managed by a Committee of volunteers, with a constitution which governs how the club will operate, in terms of finances and administration. We also have a trained welfare officer who is responsible for our child safeguarding policy, anti-racism policy and Respect Codes of practice that everyone from players, coaches and spectators must follow.

The success of Honley JFC has been achieved through the hard work and commitment of its players
and parents. In particularly those that have volunteered to make up the committee, managers, coaches and parent helpers. We can only maintain this level of organisation with the continued support and efforts of existing volunteers. More importantly, to sustain and develop the club we welcome and encourage parents to join in. If you feel you can contribute to the running of
the club or help out in any way, we’d love to hear from you. This can come as hands on help, sponsorship, raffle prizes, running a tuck shop, organising a party - anything. If you are interested then speak to your team manager who will signpost you to the right contact.
